    Default Caceres to Salamanca

Hi everyone and thanks for posting so much useful info on here.

I am planning to go only from Caceres to Salamanca as I have limited time available.

I'm planning to land in Madrid, go to Caceres by bus, walk to Salamanca and take another bus back to Madrid to come back to London. I'm hoping to complete the journey in 11 days from 17th May.

Is it possible to obtain a credential in Madrid? It doesn't seem to be on a famous path, so I'm a bit worried it will be difficult to find it there. Would it be easier to just wait to get to Caceres? My concern is that it will be already evening by the time I get there.
Any info on this will be immensely appreciated as well as any other tips I can get from people who has done a similar journey.

    Thanks so much,

    Diego

    Hi Diego

I don't know if I'm too late with this but anyway... You can get a Credencial in Madrid from the association of Amigos there. See: Credencial | Asociaci

However, There's a municipal hostel in Caceres and normally they'll be able to give you one too. It's the Albergue Municipal Ciudad de Cáceres. The address is in the guide here: Camino de Santiago Guide - St James Way - free guide to download

The guide should be pretty up-to-date, somebody sent me a load of information in May, but things change all the time.

Cacers to Salamanca is the most beautiful part of this Camino and Salamanca is the most beautiful city in Spain.

Just the info I need. Thanks, Ger.

Diego, I'd love to know your itinerary for your walk. I'm going in August when things will be a bit different (hot!), but I am planning on doing the same route as you.

    Stephen.
