Bilbao towards Santiago..accomdations

We did our first Camino last October from Villafranca to Santiago. This year we going to land in Bilbao . We were at first thinking of taking public transportation to St. Jean Pied de Port and doing the first 125k and then returning via public tranportation to Bilbao. Now we are thinking of going straight from Bilbao for 125k towards Santiago then return to Bilbao for our flight back to California. Any thoughts on the comparisson of terrain and accomdations. Villafranca to O Ceberio was the most difficult for us...but we made the entire trip with no blisters...."just" extreme tendonitis.

Are you talking about walking from Bilbao or joining the Camino Frances nearest to that point?

I have not walked in the Bilbao region, but from what I hear it is very hard going - lots of steep up and downs.
