Winter Walk
Hi Everyone
First post here! Glad to see a strong, pilgrim community.
In '06 I walked El Camino (Via Frances) and had an amazing, eye opening journey. I am, once again, at a point in my life where I need to take some time and think about things -- The Camino is calling me again.
I am thinking about Via de la Plata. However, I want to do it in the winter. I am taking this semester off from school so, the main issue, is time. Secondly, I will need to earn some funds and this will take the next couple of months.
Is it possible? I know the weather will be nasty, but this is fine. Often the weather on (Via) Frances (in the July/August) was so hot I would've preferred rain and drizzle!
Any advice?
Thank you!

Walking the Camino in the Winter
this thread should give you some helpfull information.
Camino Frances in winter.

I would only observe that, on the Via de la Plata/Camino Sanabr?s, there are quite some, typically Galician, "hollow paths", between granite stone walls, with granite stepping stones in the middle of the "gully", which would likely become small mountain riverlets in case of heavy rainfall. Mud would be a problem inasfar as it is sticky. Wet feet a probable occurance.
Just my 2 cents. I'm a summer guy, mind you.

Thanks
Sorry it took a few to reply! I really appreciate the info and opinions! After doing some reading and research I wonder if I should tackle the "French Way" this winter instead. I guess its really quiet -- a nice change from the often hectic summer months along this section.
Either way, I'll leave some updates!
Again, its nice to see such a active pilgrim community!
