cycling distances
My wife and I are planning to cycle the Camino in November on Mountain bikes. What sort of daily kilometres can we expect? We are used to doing 70- 90 km on loaded touring bikes on roads, but this is first trip on a trail. How much of the route is paved? Is there a lot of up and down? We have about 2weeks of cycling time available. Where should we start in order to get to Santiago in time?? thx for the help

I have cycled El Camino Frances twice mostly on the road but sometimes on the track. Some of the track was good (not paved) and some of it was very rough and steep. There is a LOT of up and down with the max. altitude at 1500m and quite a few climbs over 1200m. If you do go in November , expect very cold weather and snow on the high bits. When I did the route it was in September and averaged about 72km.per day with generally good weather.
