Butafumerio (Pilgrim Mass)

Does anybody know if the Butafurerio is used often in the Cathedral in Santiago. I have tried to find a schedual on the internet. My goal is to be in Santiago Saturday June 26th and Sunday 27th. I would love to experience the spectacular swinging of the huge 'butafumeiro'.

You had better get up early to get in to the Cathedral on the 28th!!!

Two years ago there was a group of English professors from Oxford who said they had arranged to have the dustbin swung, but they had to make a donation to the Cathedral to arrange it for the day they wanted.

During the last 2 Holy Years (1999 and 2004), they swung the Botafumeiro everyday at the 12:00 noon Pilgrims' Mass starting in March... Hopefully the trend will continue in 2010! Good luck and Buen Camino!

There is no schedule, but it being the Xacobeo Year, chances are you will see the Botafumeiro.
