    Question Multiple Sclerosis

    Hi to everyone!
I am Ivica from Croatia and I had 31 years. I am ill of multiple sclerosis for about 8 years now.
Recently I heard of Camino and in the beganing I was not interested. But so far my interest grow, I don't know if was it a call from above.
My fisical condition is not so good, but I can still walk. Although my right side is very bad. Maybe I can still do something for my body cause I want to Go on the Camino in september. Thoes ill people go on the Camino or just helthy?
I am interested in the Via Francesa.
I know that is a too few information, but can you consult me on how to prepare on the Camino (i mean everything; witch shoes to buy, how to prepare, etc.) and any experience that you want to share that can be helpful.
    I'm thank you so much.
    Thanks!

    Ivica

Hi Ivica, welcome here. I hope you'll find some good answers on this forum. I still have to walk my first Camino so I'm not very useful when it comes to giving advice. I do know about people who walked an alternative route to the camino frances in a weelchair.
    Again, good luck!

Dear Sabine,Thank you very much for your reply.
I'm in a very big dilema right now, to go or not to go?
The signs that God send me are all for 'Go and don't be scered cause I am with you'. But as only a man I need a word.
Your post is saying me Go. I am shure that I will know all in a while.
    So, be patient Ivica.

    Thanks again!

I will start from St Jean de Pied du Port on the 15th July, and if you could start then, then I would love to support you in your walk.

    Thumbs up Re: Multiple Sclerosis

    Hi to everyone!
It has been decided. I plan to leave Croatia on 27th of August and plan to be at San Jean Pied du Port at 28th of August! So I can start to pilgrimate at 29th.
I am very excited cause is not a little thing for a ill person like me to plan a pilgrimage like this.
I come by plane to Pau and then by train to San Jean.
Well, I have exactly 6 months to give back this body his strenght.
    So, any sugestion...
    Thank you all.

    Ivica

    Hi Ivica,
I wish you well on your journey...I just finished walking the Camino from St Jean with my daughters aged 7 and 12. Their father has MS and although he did not come, we were raising money for MS Research while we walked. We have raised $AU4600 so far. I also wrote a blog about our walk so you can have a look at both sites. Everyday Hero - Where Living is Giving, blog: OUR WALK FOR FELIPE
Some things that might be helpful...there are services that will take your bag from Albergue to Albergue (3 to 7 euros per day for bag transport) and there is a very good private Albergue system which works with the baggage transport system. I can send you the details if you are interested.
    2. if you would like to contact me - let me know or ask corey and i am happy to give you more information

Thank you for your kindnes and for your offer.
I am totaly in the hands of God. He invite me on this Camino with a reason (which I don't know), so I do not want to know anything. I totaly belive him, that he will guide me in the best way for me.
I know only how to come to St Jean. From then on it is dark for me.
I will shurely look at your sites.
    Bye!

I met a pilgrim with only one leg and few pilgrims do the Camino on wheelchair, so I am sure you will make it too! There are lots of pilgrims on Camino Francés and some are very kind - I believe God will send you someone (or some people) to support you.
Good luck and may God and Saint James bless you, Ivica!
