Camino for charity?
Gary McCartan is fundraising for National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children - JustGiving
A group of my friends will be travelling along the french way of the Camino de Santiago. It is a historical walk which starts at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and finishes 478 miles (769km) later at Santiago de Compostela. We are trying to raise asa target of ?1000 in sponsership for the NSPCC's Child voice appeal.
There is a confirmed 6 of us so far and hope to get a few more on board. It is a months walk and almost 500 miles. We leave on the 20th of July 2010 and have only a few months to raise as much as we can.
Click the link at the top of the screen to see our donation page.
This is a massive journey for us and with your help we can help children who are struggling to get through their own journeys.
What your donation goes towards:
?4Answers a child's call for help on ChildLine.
?25Enables a trained practitioner to deliver 1 hour of support through the NSPCC Helpline, to protect some of the most vulnerable children in society such as babies or toddlers who cannot call for themselves.
?42Pays for a child who may have nowhere else to turn to receive confidential, one to one counselling through ChildLine, about an issue which is important to them.
?50Pays for an hour of direct one to one support for a vulnerable child and their family. This includes the time it takes to prepare and write up the session.
Thank You and i hope to see you on the walk!!!
