Transporting suitcases
In 2007 when I did a portion of the Camino, there were a couple of services which would transport my big bags from town to town and hotel to hotel, so my load while walking was lighter. One service was Transpote De Maleta another Globetrotter. This year I am walking through Sta. Catalina de Somoza, Foncebad?n, El Acebo, Ponferrada and Villafranca del Bierzo. Does anyone know of a company servicing those towns? PW

Jacotrans
I think you might be out of luck, but Jacotrans (http://www.jacotrans.com/ingles/iquienes.htm) are intending to extend their service beyond Viana to Santiago 'soon' , so you might check with them before you set out. Failing that, I assume you will be starting at Astorga - ask around the refuges there - sometimes a local taxi driver will do this sort of thing.
Jacotrans are reliable and speak French & Spanish (no English), but deliver only between particular hostels - you cannot nominate a particular hostel as the destination of your rucksack.

Jacotrans
Yes, I stumbled upon Jacotrans and they provided us with information regarding services for Astorga and points west. My companion speaks fluent Spanish, so that was very helpful. We are all set and depart from US on Friday for 11 days. Thanks for your reply. Patty
