    Default Theft In Albergues

Hi, I'm new to the forum. My wife and I are planning on walking in the Fall. Is it safe to leave backpacks on your beds when you go to dinner, take showers, wash clothes, etc. at the albergues?

    Hey Wild Bill,

Yes it is safe, because everyone's in the same boat. But like Covey said, best to keep those items you don't want to lose with you - passport, phone, wallet, which is standard practice for any kind of traveling. You may even get to the stage where you wish like hell someone would steal your stuff to save you the trouble of thinking about it! During my walk, my pack rolled a little way down an embankment towards a river, where it snagged on a bramble, just out of reach. And as I was waiting for something to come by and help me reach it a little voice inside was giving it a little shove and wickedly wishing the river would carry it away
