When I was walking the Camino from Zubiri to Pamplona the Frenchman I was walking with at the time and I met a young Spanish girl, in colloquial dress, that is an almost antique style, going the opposite way. The trail at that point was above the river bank on the opposite side of the river from the road. At that point, and for about a half mile up and down the trail, there was no bridge or way to cross the road. Behind my French companion two ladies from England were walking along.
The Spanish girl was very pretty, as my French companion noted to me later, and smiled sweetly at us, and bowed slightly to us as she passed. We both noted that the brambles and bushes were very close and, in several places, grew into the path, but that she moved among them without any problem or having her clothes snagged or stuck on them.
After she passed we stopped, drank some water, and talked about the feeling of sweetness and purity we felt as she came to view and passed, and how pretty she was. The Frenchman and I had talked previously how, in life, you can never surrender, never give up. He smiled and said, "For that I would surrender"; we laughed.
As the English ladies caught up to us we asked if they saw the sweet Spanish girl. They both looked at us, astonished, and said no.
Now I'm not given to flights of fancy or "voodoo" science or a lot of "touchy feely" new-ageism but this really kind of spooked the Frenchman and I out.
So, I'm asking has anyone else out there seen something similar?

Wow, this is even stranger than the man in opposite direction. He is a bald Spanish man with a tatoo on his arm (right one, if I remember well), with no backpack or other pilgrim gear, and he appears between Pamplona and Logrono. Sometimes he travels on foot (he goes very fast), sometimes on bike. Sometimes he goes in the "right" direction, but mostly he goes the other way. First day I met him, he went once in our direction and then three times in a row in the opposite one.
Many other pilgrims have seen him (and some didn't, or they didn't remember). We had such theories as that he has an identical twin (or probably more than one), that he flies, he teleports, or that he is a spirit of the Camino appearing to pilgrims as an ordinary man. Last time I met him I asked how he does it - he said he travels some part on bike, than stops his bike and go some circuit on foot, rides the bike, goes on foot and so on. When I asked "Why?", he said he walks a dog, but I have seen the dog with him only once.
