    Default Cell phones

My wife and I are strarting our first Camino walk in Sept. We have been contemplating not carrying a cell phone...just using occasional internet use to stay in contact with home. What do others think of that? And can you buy a cheap cell phone and international plan in, say, Pomplona?

Not sure about the plans available.

We took one cell ph between us. Only (& I mean only) because our 20yo son was sitting our house.
We turned it on about every 3 days for 10min to pick up any text message & reply (was never done while walking - that was our time).

Because of the very little useage we planned to use, we didn't worry abt setting up a Spanish contract.

With the internet sites, some of the young ones stayed on them all night, so I am glad we didn't rely on it.
The cell was the only modern item we needed
