    Default Stolen mementoes

I walked from Le Puy to Santiago in 1992. I bought some sort of medallion in Santiago which was stolen in a burglary recently and I would like to replace it. Problem is, I can't remember exactly what it was like or where to look for something similar without a description. I also had a medallion of Sant'Amaro taken which I bought in the Ermita de Sant'Amaro near Burgos, but they left my Santiago cross.

Any help would be most welcome.

Presumably you received your Compostella when you got to Santiago, and if you are like most of us, it hangs on a wall somewhere to remind you of your adventure a decade or so ago. If you have your Compostella, it is probably as good a reminder of the friends you made and places you went as any medallion which you can no longer remember.

I cannot imagine any thief stealing a Compostella unless they speak Spanish and know what it stand for!

I am trying to compile an insurance claim, so would like to provide as accurate a picture of lost items as I can.

Not sure how you can fill in an insurance claim for an item for which you cannot provide a description or presumably some proof of purchase or a receipt!

Do you have a photo in your archives which shows you holding said medallion? There is, I suspect, little chance of the insurance company paying your costs to go back to Santiago to look for a replacement!!
