Hi Peeb, and welcome to the Forum. A quick note to let you know I did the Camino "alone" in 2008 and worried about being on my own. What I discovered was that I had few days in which I was by myself -- I hooked up with other singles and formed several "Camino Families" during my walk. The relationships were and are priceless. The reason I'm saying this to you is that it might actually be better to start the walk by yourself -- you get to choose your companions, then. If you find someone online who you don't know except through e-mail you may feel obligated to hang with him/her even if the chemistry isn't quite right. Just sayin'.
