Bordeaux to SJPDP

Hi. I would like to start my camino in Bordeaux France around August 20th. I have a few questions about starting Bordeaux. Will I need maps and where can I get them? How many more days should I add to my walk? Will there be Albergues between Bordeaux and Saint Jean? Thank you in advanced for you time and help.

Bordeaux is on the Tours route - Via Turonensis. Even if it's not as popular as the other routes in France, you should find albergues (gites) quite easily. Walking from Bordeaux to SJPP takes about 11 days.
