Hi, are there any especially meaningful or beautiful spots along the trail that you would recommend proposing to someone for marriage?
If you have ideas or have heard of wonderful engagements along the trail, please let me know!
Thanks!

What a delightful idea. There are many places that are beautiful. One would be the bridge at Hospital de Orbigo (The Orbigo Bridge (Hospital de Orbigo, Leon)) where a knight jousted 300 other knights to prove his love for his lady. Another would be at the lighthouse at Finisterre, which is such a beautiful and romantic spot. You could stay overnight at O Semaforo the primitive but beautifully situated hotel right there at the cape.

Or on the steps of Santiago Cathedral, or at the Iron Cross Hill (not terribly romantic or scenic, but has a special meaning for us poor baggage mules!) or on the beach at Finesterre with a driftwood fire as you watch the sunset.

Perfect ideas! I like the idea of getting engaged in Finisterre on the beach...a good spot to begin exploring the world together.
Thanks! Is there a beach in Finisterre that is more exclusive and pretty than the others?
There is no beach at the lighthouse which sits on top of the "last rocks in the Old World", but it is quite popular with Pilgrims (visit the supermarket in Finesterre and take the makings for a long picnic!) and there is a purpose built pit for pilgrims to burn an item of clothing which is an ancient tradition.
The beach is just around the corner from the lighthouse and has good access and is quite large and faces west!
Pilgrims in ancient times burnt their clothing and changed in to a white robe to signify their purification. However, they will probably have had just a robe which lasted them across Europe and was probably crawling with wildlife and stank!!
Modern day pilgrims resist the urge to burn their very expensive clothing and usually limit themselves to an old tee shirt and a pair of their socks. Burning the socks is something your partners and house mates will appreciate!!!!!
