Default Back to the camino or elsewhere. The world is big.

    Hi,

I walked the Camino from St Jean to Muxia last July and August. Like most pilgrims, by Logrono, I thought the repeat Pilgrims were crazy folk. Whilst, they said they'd ask me later. By Burgos, I knew that I would be back.

    But...

I was hoping to go in September, but a nagging feeling in my head is telling me the world is large and I should explore elsewhere. Do any repeat Pilgrims here feel the same? Can anybody recommend a alternative Location with the same buzz?

I have travelled the world in my time, but few things have got me as engaged as the Camino, so I'm craving your answers!

    Hi Kolley ~
Great question! As a serial caminoist (3x in 4 years) I have yet to discover anything that quite compares to the vibe of the Camino Frances. I've toured in many countries and also sailed across the Pacific but I have yet to find the camino's combination of travel, exercise, spirituality and community anywhere else. I can see another camino coming for me. I'm flirting with Vezelay to St. Jean, and also with the Camino del Norte, plus potentially doing the first 750 kms of the Via de la Plata. Also am investigating the Via Francigena. However, each of these has far fewer of the Camino Frances' true treasure: other pilgrims.
Good luck making your decision ~

    Hi Sandy,

And a great answer. I think you've convinced me as to why I'll be heading back in September. I remember travelling in a campervan for many months in Australia and crossing America as a backpacker. These were memorable in their own right, but the easygoing nature and open hearts of the camino folk made for a trip that was unlike anything else.

    See you on the road!
