Leaving StPdP on August 1st

This will be my first trip, and though I wanted to start earlier, my companion cannot leave until August 1. How hot will it be at this time?

Congrats! The temps depend on your precise location along the camino and, of course, the precise weather patterns this August. At SJPP through about Pamplona you'll find moderately warm temps. From there it'll get much hotter, especially in the Meseta (roughly between Burgos and Astorga). You'll have a respite in the higher elevations like Foncebadon and O Cebreiro, then you may find moderately high temps in Galicia, too. So perhaps 30-40C (90-110F) is about the range. Make sure to drink lots of water!
