Chacos? June/July walk?
I am really enjoying reading all of these posts.
I am planning my journey to begin June 1 with a flight to Paris and train rides to arrive at SJPP where I will spend a day enjoying the town and then set out of my walk. My best friend is joining me and we are debating wether to walk in hiking boots or our trusty Chaco Sandals with the Z-2 Vibram soles... I am leaning towards wearing the chacos to avoid sweaty feet since we are walking June/July I am guessing it will be very very hot.
Does anyone have experience or suggestions for chaco hiking sandals vs hiking boots in regards to June/July weather ?
Thanks a million and thank you for having this forum, it's wonderful!

Re: Chacos? June/July walk?
Hi!
I always bring my sandals when I walk in summer but I also bring my boots because it can be quite cold in the morning and because you can get wet and cold weather all year round (and lots of mud in the Meseta).
You need something with a good sole because you'll be walking a lot on hard, earth tracks with lots of small stones. Agony if you haven't got some protection.
"I am guessing it will be very very hot." - you'll probably get a few very very hot days but most days won't be very very hot.
Good boots with a Goretex lining will prevent sweaty feet.
Buen Camino!
