    Smile Books and Maps

Does anyone know of a cheep book that has a map of the camino de santiago de compostela in English? I know that there are mamy many books on the walk, but would be interested to see if there is a small light one about.

    Kind regards

Really it depends on what you are looking for, is it to carry with you? The reason I ask is that any map that will have detail will be very big and not fit into a book - I have a copy of the map that was on the back of my last pilgrims passport here http://www.caminodesantiago.me.uk/caminomaps.html

    Hope this helps.

Yes. We carried "Walking The Camino De Santiago" by Bethan Davies and Ben Cole. It was small, light, and had good detail to the maps. Also great advice on the albergues etc. Good luck!

Also you can pick up "free" maps as you go along, as many regions give out a lot of information to pilgrims, including list of albergures, maps of their region that sometime include elevations.

I have a map of the st jean to roncesvalles part of the route I will scan it and add it to the maps page - it is a good example of how much local people help pilgrims along the route - and they do a great deal.

One thing I did was to get my big heavy detailed guide book, and scan the map pages and shrink them and print them 2 or 4 to an A4 page. Once I had walked that section, I could throw out that part of the map.
