Do You Want to Write Blog Posts?

It is three years nearly since I walked the Camino Frances and I have run out of information in my head to talk about on the blog - here http://caminodesantiago.me.uk/hp_wordpress/

So I was thinking if you would like to write some Camino information on the blog I have now set it up so that you can.

I would like this to be information about any of the Camino routes, whether it is planning before you go, memories, or what it felt like after you had finished - really just anything to with the Camino.

You will have to log into the blog and create an account, after that you can post any information when you want. The user name you chose will be published as the author.

Do you think this is a good idea or what?

I would be interested. I am planning my first camino?. I have spent years thinking about it. I love writing also. I see you are going to walk this year ?. I looked at your new resolutions for 2011 and would ask that you think about "living with intention" as a combined way of looking forward to seeing all those resolutions come to pass. I have a lot of experience hill walking in the Wicklow "Mountains" also other countries and did 46km of the Wicklow way in one day last June. I love long distance. My husband wants to do the Camino with me and I think we could do it together. So let me know what you think?. We live in Greystones.

I am now planning my Camino this Sept and would love to start adding to your blog. I don't see a way of logging in ? Can you give me step by step ? I use wordpress myself so know how to post but not how to create an account on your blog. I see you have been on holidays, what date are you caminoeing! this year ?

I'd be interested, I'll be taking a sort of journal on my camino and taking notes of what each day was like, where I stayed, what the food was like, what the people were like, points of interest, and average costs... I was going to do this because a few of my family and friends are now considering it after I mentioned I was doing it! So I told them I would let them know how it goes. Because I'm young, quite unfit, and I smoke, I think I could offer quite a good guideline for those who smoke and/or are unfit, it may give them the confidence boost they need to do something like this... a couple of days ago I was worried that I wouldn't even make the first day, but now I'm confident I'll do it, even if I have to force myself at points. I'm more mentally prepared than physically prepared, and although it is very exhausting for the body, I think it would also be exhausting for the mind too.

Anyway, I'll attempt to write a blog in July sometime when I get back from my first Camino.

Joe you are already doing a great job writing with your thoughts of how and why you are on this forum and bravely going forth to walk the camino. If you keep a log of your posts and replies and go from there ? I want to start writing now as planning can be so exciting, as did you ever think you would have such great, relevant advice from such experienced caminos ? (what is someone who walks a camino called ?).
I have wordpress blogs set up for other topics but would like to write on Leslie's log, have asked him to show me how, if not will look out for your "camino blog" and as I am not going until Sept will read with interest. This time I get 9 days on the Camino, next year WHO knows!

Hi Una, thanks for your kind words, every bit of information or encouragement I get from the people on this forum is always greatly appreciated by me. I can't thank you all enough. I take everything on board, and your idea sounds really good, I have notes, websites, receipts, weight of items, where I got them, and everything else all in my drawer, so I could compile them into one document and post it as a guideline for complete beginners... Everything I bought and have was recommended on this forum... along with the knowledge I already know of the Camino, so it can't be too bad. Plus I'll have first hand experience when I get back so I could tell people what my expectations were and how they compared to the real thing.

It'd be my way of giving something back to this website, this forum, and all the people who use it.
