    Default Also on my way

Thank you for an interesting discussion forum. I am South African and am planning a trip for next year. After reading about this pilgrimage twice in the last year - the pilgrimage chose me - as one of the forum members has said. Unfortunately I run a seasonal business and will only be able to get away next year 2009 - so that gives me plenty of time for research and planning. Anyway, I know this is something I have to do at this time of my life and am looking forward to it. As I love being alone in a crowd I think this will be perfect. I noticed someone asked about camping - that was one of my questions too but I see it is not feasible on this particular walk - so I will have to deal with my space issues, which may be good for me and perhaps one of the lessons the pilgrimage will teach me - who knows only time will tell. Your members comments are valuable - thank you. Carla

    Welcome to the forum finebush.

Yes I had to deal with my space issues also on the Camino. I like quite a lot of privacy and the Camino is not the place to get it in the evenings, however it was mostly okay. Being tired every night from walking helped and all the others were doing the same thing so it seemed okay for me.

Thanks for that. Will get my walking boots out. May June here is when the tourism business is very quiet and it is the beginning of our winter. it is also when I close my shop. So, May June 2009 - here I come-. I plan to walk for 6 days and rest every 7th day - so suspect the trip will take me at least 6 weeks. I will contact your forum again when I have done some more research and will undoubtedly have more questions.
