Default A mount to hold a camera on top of a walking pole?

I've noticed that some of the photos I took on the Camino were blurred. I think this was due to camera shake. I was thinking if I could find a mount that would hold a camera on top of a hiking pole I could use it as a monopod.
Has anybody come across such a device?

Not directly Stephen but such poles do exist. Have a look here - http://photonotes.org/reviews/leki-sierra/

Default Camera Mount on Hiking Pole

    One Hiking Pole manufacturer suggestion:

    http://www.trackspoles.com/index.asp

where the walnut top of it unscrews, leaving a steel bolt that can screw into the base of cameras so as to hold them. The foot of the pole has a steel spike that you can ram into the ground and so as to keep the pole in an upright position and allow one to take photos with a self timer and be in the shot too, even when alone. Or, you could use it as a mono-pod. I have used it and it works fine.

You might make one too as the thread for all cameras takes a 1/4 X 20 stud. Just purchase the bolt and affix it to some lightweight handle. Here is an innovative hiking pole manufacturer that has done it for the poles he sells:
    http://www.luxurylite.com/ssindex.html

Look carefully and see that he affixes the screw into an aluminum insert that can be put into the top of his hollow hiking pole to hold the camera.

    Default camera mount walking pole

Stephen - I just bought a Lexi Sierra telescoping walking pole. It was a bit pricey, but it's got a shock absorber (which my joints are grateful for!), and the handle screws off to reveal a standard size camera mount. What really appealed to me about this pole is it comes with a lifetime no questions asked replacement guarantee. You can check it out at www.leki.com
