Camino in May

Hello everyone,

I am walking the Camino in May. I am flying from Australia to Barcelona and I have to get to Roncesvalles from there to start the walk. Can anyone tell me the best way to get there from Barcelona? Can I get a pilgrim passport from Roncesvalles? Any information would be appreciated...my first time out of the country at the tender age of 49 so a little apprehensive right about now.

The quickest way is to catch an Iberia flight from Barcelona to Pamplona which takes 90 minutes, and then catch a bus to Roncesvalles.

Barcelona is really the wrong end of Spain to arrive at, but check if the travel agents can sell you a cheap bolt on leg to Pamplona.

Otherwise it is a very long coach journey via Madrid and then to Pamplona.

You get your Pilgrim Passport at the monastery at Roncesvalles at the office where you check in to get your bed.

Have done a little more searching and there is a train service from Barcelona to Pamplona from where you catch a bus to Roncesvalles.
