    Default Second Attempt

Hi, I have just joined this Forum and once again found the desire to walk. I began my journey in 2007, after 2 years planning, walking from St Jean to Santo Domining de la Calzada. I found that 2 years planning was not enough to prepare for the Camino if your head is not there. I spent so much time looking at the road and forgot to look up.
I tried to find excuses but there were none. I am going back in 2010 either May or October. Not sure were to start from Burgos or Leon - any sugguestions? I look forward to following the journey of others via the forum.

You could always start from Santo Domingo and then you will have the satisfaction of completing the whole Camino Frances. A great many people walk the Camino's in stages, doing a section each year or so. Last year I met a group of pilgrims from Norway who were just completing a "four year Camino"

Unless one is a teacher or between jobs, taking 4-6 weeks holiday in one hit is often impossible, so the only option is to split it into 2-3 week sections.

Looking down at the road is advisable in places otherwise you will end up in an undignified heap when you trip up!

I always enjoy the Burgos to Leon section across the Meseta. Long vistas and a decent track, and plenty of time to look up and just let your mind wander.
