    Default Posting stuff to Santiago

    Hi,

I'm going to be starting the camino in about a week from St Jean Pied de Port, but on this trip after i finish the camino I'm spending another month or so hostelling, and so want to have a few more clothes and things that i dont need on the camino but want for city life! I've heard you can send a parcel in the mail to be held under your name in Santiago de Compostela, but does anyone know how you would address such a parcel? I have left myself some time to send something from Bayonne before i go to St JPDP. Thanks ahead of time for any instructions or suggestions!

    Default Posting Ahead

For many years pilgrims could post parcels to Santiago Post Office - Lista de Correos - and collect them when they arrived. The Post Office now only keeps parcels for two weeks. (They were probably inundated with thousands of parcels!)
But, don't despair - there is a new service in Santiago whereby you can send your parcel ahead and they will keep it for you for as long as is necessary:
Luggage storage in Santiago de Compostela Camino de Santiago de Compostela Travel Agency

PS: You can use the center's service to book hotel rooms (at no extra charge as they get commission from the hotel) rail and bus tickets, and even a great ride to Finisterre to watch the sunset then back to Santiago. And NO, I do not get a pay-back for recommending this service!
