    Smile Camino in august

    hey...

im planning on walking the camino in august this year...im from australia and heading home in september...is it going to be impossible to get by in one month with the heat...and my other concern is accomodation...i have been travelling for a while now and i like to travel quite blindly with most things...in saying that im willing to arrive in st jean pied de port early august and get walking...no matter what...

its going to be busy...i dont mind waking up early...i just need some guidance perhaps from a fellow walker who has experienced the path in august...

    thanks in advance.

    Hi Sal,

Just turn up at St Jean, get a passport and start walking. It is all fairly simple, there are many places to stop for the night.

I live in Ireland and I did not find the heat too much during the day - just remember the suncream.

As you go along you can get more information about the next steps. This is what I did the first time, at that time there was little information on the web in English - different now.

    Enjoy.

Once you hit the Galicia region, be ready for cold weather and rain, even in summer. The weather there can be changeable and not what you would regard as typical of Spain.
