Excess luggage storage

I am planning to start walking the Camino on Sept 7 from St. Jean. This is only one month of a nine month trip I am taking, so I have way more in my pack than I want to carry. Is there any place where I can store luggage for the month I am walking? I have heard that people send things on to Santiago de Compostella post office and they will hold it for you. Has anyone ever done this? Do you actually get your stuff back?

If you don't feel confident using the post office, ( i personally find their service very efficient) , you can mail a parcel or backpack (make sure a backpack is well taped) To Camino Travel Center

They charge about 20 euro for a month storage. Postage charges are approx. 8.5 euro for up to 10 kilos, and about 15 euros for up to 15 kilos. They don't take heavier parcels.

The post office will hold your parcel for up to 30 days.
Address it to yourself as your name appears in your passport - you might have to present it to claim it:
eg:
Gazelle A
Lista de Correos
15780 Santiago de Compostela
A Coruña

The Post Office (Correos) in Santiago is back to its old site near the cathedral.
