    Default Travelling alone

Can anyone tell me if it is safe for a woman walking the Camino de Santiago alone? Seems to me from what I am reading that there are plenty of people on the Camino - I would be trying to do the section either from Leon to Santiago. Any advice?

    Thanks to you all

One of the things that struck Lynda and I when we walked from Roncesvalles last year was the large number of women who were walking alone. I heard none of them complain about any problems, it is very safe. Also if you are so inclined you will quickly meet people to walk with for a day, a week or a month.

Thanks Dave, that's good to know. Can I ask what time of the year you walked?

I have walked the Camino Frances many times and have never heard of, or met a female who had difficulties walking solo. Around 50% of those walking the Camino Frances at any one time are solo females and almost without exception, they have a great time.

The first few days are rather like speed dating!! except in this case, you are looking for those who speak your language, and walk at the same pace that suits you. A sense of humor helps!!
