I'd like to thank Covey for allowing me to tell you about my new book on planning for a Camino walk or ride in France and Spain.
After years of answering questions on Forums (like this one) about walking or riding a Camino I decided to create a list of FAQ only to find that I had about 35 pages of FAQs!!
So I did the obvious thing - I turned it into a book.
The book kept growing! The final product lists the most useful websites to learn about the Camino (which will save hours of surfing), books and movies, choosing the right time to go, weather tables, info on about 35 different routes and how to get to the start of the one you choose to do; preparing (physically, spiritually and psychologically); budgets, gear and clothing, Camino etiquette, accommodation, food, daily routines, how to 'go' in the woods!
I included a chapter for people with disabilites, those wanting to walk with their children or take their beloved hound or a donkey! There is a chapter on cycling or horse back riding a Camino, information on technology, Camino-lingo, transport (8 pages listing all the buses and trains) and a chapter on 'doing the Camino your way' using tour companies and backpack transfer services.
I added a 'time-line' for the Santiago pilgrimage and a chapter on Relics and where to see them. I've also included an article on Post-Camino blues and volunteering as a hospitalero. The book is available online from Amazon, Barnbes & Noble, Waterstones, The book Depository etc and is also available as an ebook or Kindle.
This is not a book to take with you on the Camino - it is a planning guide that I'd like you to use and abuse! Scribble in it, turn back pages and highlight important sections. It will help you to plan a perfect Camino!

The heading is the name of the book! If you go to one of the online stores and type in Your Camino or Sylvia Nilsen it will take you to the book.
If you buy it, please let me know if there are any questions that haven't been answered - I'd really appreciate any feedback. Some readers have let me know of a few print errors (split sentences, joined words etc) and these are being corrected on the Kindle version but the printed version will have to wait a while.
