I read this novel - pretty funny. I am not sure who is more stubborn, the donkey or the author (Tim Moore)! Lots of what not to do advice demonstrated in this book.

The title of the US version is different - includes a reference to dragging his "ass" across Spain.

You might enjoy: "Pilgrim Snail; Busking my Way to Santago" (I may have the title slightly wrong). The young man plays his trombone as he makes his way to Santiago. Again, a stubborn individual who demonstrates lots of what not to do stuff...bt good humor.
