Hey guys.
I'm starting my walk from SJPP somewhere in around the first two weeks of april. I'm flying into Pau, anyone out there with experience on buses/trains to SJPP? And maybe cheapish hostels in Pau+ SJPP?
Thanks a million!

You can get a train from Pau to Bayonne - costs ? 22 euro It will take between 3.5 and 4.5 hours to get to St Jean depending on which train you take and the bus connection you get at Bayonne.

Thanks for your help.
Doesn't that seem to be a rather long way around it? I found this website:
DB BAHN - TravelService - Your timetable
..that seems to suggest there are trains from Pau directly to St Jean? Wouldn't that be easier?
I might be wrong, but I think all trains to St Jean go via Bayonne-Biarritz and the line between Bayonne and St Jean is closed for repairs until June. SNCF have put on busses until then so it looks like you'll have to go to Bayonne and get a bus from there.
If you click on 'show details' under the timetable on that web page, you will see that the Pau - St Jean goes via Bayonne.

Oh, ok. So it's probably the same train just an earlier starting point? I shall have to look into this. It might be easier for me to just fly into Biarritz then, the fewer buses/trains the better obviously. But isn't it a little weird that they're showing that route on their website if it's closed down? I'll send them an email to check.. Thanks for info!
