    Default getting to sarria

hello - hope someone can help. I'll be flying to Santander from UK mid march and will have time to walk from sarria. I've trawled the web and think I'll need to go to Leon by bus and then on to Sarria. Is there a better way to go? PS does anyone know if there are concessions for travellers over 60? Thanks a lot. Jacs

Bus is the best way to travel to Leon from Santander and then change for the bus to Sarria. You can also get to Lugo and change for Sarria. There is also a train service from Leon to Sarria.I seem to remember there are 3 services a day but you can check on the Renfe Website.
Concessions in Spain usually require you to be over 65 years old.
    Enjoy your Camino

hello - I asked at the bus station in Santiago and was told to go to Lugo (bus station) then get another bus to Sarria. This was easy with no waiting around. There were plenty of places to stay and somewhere to eat along the way. I stayed in the official Albergues (pilgrim hostels) but there were pensions and hotels. I don't speak spanish but help was at hand from other pilgrims along the route as well as local spanish people.
PS if you have time the tourist info in Santiago has info on the pilgrims' way. Enjoy your Camino

We went from UK Stanstead with Ryanair to Santiago. Morning flight if possible as last bus for saria leaves airport bus terminal at 6pm. Buses from saria leave from airport. If you miss last bus, go into santiago and overnight. Then get a bus am to sarnia from bus station. This is the best way to do it. Further detail on request. Best wishes, mo

There is only one direct bus per day at the moment from Santiago to Sarria.
It leaves at 18.00 MONDAY to FRIDAY from Santiago bus station and does not call at the airport.

Empresa Freire operate the Service from Santiago to Lugo where you change for Sarria. Most services call at the Airport on their way but some don't call at the airport on their way out of Santiago.Check their timetable for details.Services to Lugo do leave after 18.00 daily from the airport, also a bus for Santiago meets all Ryan Air Flights at the Airport for transport into Santiago,it goes via the Bus Station and ends at Plaza Galicia, close to the Historic Centre.Cost was ?3.00
