from barcelona to Saint Jean Pied de Port

im going to be in barcelona on the 24/9 and i heard great things about the camino route.
i saw you are all talking about a train from paris
does any body knows how to get to Saint Jean Pied de Port diractly from barcelona?
a bus or a train maybe

Most people tend to get a train, bus or plane from Barcelona to Pamplona, and then get a bus to Roncesvalles and then a taxi to St Jean.

There is no direct route to St Jean. St Jean is a small town and is at the end of the railway line from Bayonne. Bayonne has a TGV train service to Paris, but the cross border connections to Spain are limited, presumably because of the historical problems of border controls and customs pre the EC.

is it possible to get out of Barcelona in the morning and walk some day?
or i should sleep some where on the way?

Renfe Timetables and Prices The train from Barcelona takes around 4 hours and there are usually three trains a day.

You could email Caroline at Express Buricott to arrange for a lift to St Jean from Pamplona. She carts pilgrims twice a day at about 11am and 4pm from the bus station. The cost depends on how many pilgrims are in her mini-bus but usually between 9 euro and 20 euro - which is very reasonable. apcaroline@hotmail.com (HT to Sil!)
