Default La Via Francigena in May.

Just want to add my little bit to this special new site I'm planning on walking this way in May with a friend, so any information or advice is good! Lots to think about before we go but that little flat spot after walking the Camino Frances in September, has been replaced by the thrill of walking another Camino! Any new information I gather I'll post here, hopefully to entice others to walk the VF as well

Hi Gary, Can't answer your question as I haven't walked it yet! I'm leaving April 23rd. I'll be using 'The Lightfoot Guides' as they are very detailed and also wearing a GPS watch. There're many useful blog sites on this way which are also great to read to give you first hand views.http://www.pilgrimstorome.org.uk/pilgrimsites.html I'll keep you posted : ) My friend and I will be walking through Switzerland in May....brrrr cold.... so I'll be able to update you before you leave.Netia

Gary, you might want to talk to Sil. I believe she did it a few years ago and I recall reading her blog about it a couple of years ago.

    Hello all,
Having completed the camino Frances last summer, I now have my sights set on the via Francigena for this year. I was wondering if anyone knew of any links to blogs or could refer me to members who have walked this route. I also wondered if any of you knew about accommodation (albergues? camping?) and where I could get a credencial.
    Thanks very much in advance!

    Hi Juliet ~
Here are some links for getting started:

Hopefully that'll get you started. I'll be walking from Canterbury to Lausanne this June. Maybe we'll meet!

    Hi there,
Juliet, the link Sandy gave you to the Yahoo group is excellent for help and information about this way.
I have recently joined and the response to my questions has been wonderful...people have been so helpful and supportive...a bit like the users of this site : ) I would highly recommend joining.
When are you leaving? I've booked my flights, so am now well and truly committed, my friend and I start walking on April 22nd from Canterbury.
Hope your plans are progressing well, Netia
